The apple is the product of a medium-sized tree of the Rosaceae family, originating in Central Asia and the Caucasus regions. From Europe, it was brought to Brazil, and acclimatised in the southern states. Whenever hygienically possible, one should eat it with the bark and with the seeds, to take advantage of all its salts and vitamins. Patients in the stomach should eat it peeled. The apple can be consumed raw, roasted, cooked, in marmalades, jellies, various sweets, juices, etc.
