The walnut is a tall, slender, crowned tree of the Juglandaceae family, native to India and Persia. Because of its high content of phosphorus, nut is an excellent tonic for the brain and nerves. It is one of the best tonics for the body. Invigorates debilitated individuals. Walnut is a tissue-forming food. Very good for cold weather. Its high nutritional power requires laborious digestion, which becomes more difficult if the fruit is not well chewed or if the amount consumed is excessive. Dyspéticos does not tolerate it well; nor do those who suffer from liver disease do well with it. Even healthy people should only eat nuts in small quantity.
