Tamarind

The tamarind tree is an elevated tree of the legume family, native to Africa. The acidic, nice pulp of tamarind is laxative. The pulp can be diluted in water, with added sugar, to improve the taste, is very rich in hydrocarbon substances and tartaric and malic acids, which lend it its characteristic flavor. Tamarind has the advantage of being very well preserved when the shell is not removed, which is why you should not buy the fruit with the damaged wrap.
