In young animals submitted to an experimental vitamin B 2 deficiency regimen, keratitis and cataracts appeared, as well as paralyzes, peripheral and medulla degenerations. Its deficiency in the human organism causes digestive disturbances, affections of the skin, inflammation of the cornea, of the eye and cataract.
The daily requirement, for the adult, was established in 2.2 to 3 mg.
