1) The first thing they notice about a potential victim is the hairstyle. They are more likely to attack a woman with a ponytail hairstyle, braids or any other hairstyle that can be grabbed more easily, or women with long hair. Women with short hair are not common targets.
2) The second thing they look at is clothing. They will watch women who wear clothes that are easy to pull off quickly. They also look for women talking on their cell phones or doing other things while walking: it tells them that they are inattentive and unarmed and can be easily attacked.
3) The hours of the day when they most attack and rape women is in the early morning, between 5:00 am and 8:30 am, and after 11:30 pm.
4) These men try to attack in a way and in places that can quickly carry the woman to another point, where they don't have to worry about being caught. It is ideal that you dominate some type of fight, as a defense strategy. If you sketch any fight reaction, they will probably give up in a few minutes: they think it is not worth it, that it is a waste of time.
5) They stated that they do not attack women who carry an umbrella or objects that can be used as a weapon from a distance (keys do not intimidate them, because to be used as a weapon, the victim has to let them get very close).
6) If someone is following you on a street, platform or garage, or if you are with someone suspicious in an elevator or on a staircase, look directly into the face and ask them something, like "what time is it?" if he is a rapist, he will be afraid of being identified later and will lose interest in having her as a victim. The idea is to convince you that it is not worth choosing.
7) If someone grabs you by force, shout! Most rapists said they released a woman who screamed or was not afraid to fight him. Again: they look for easy targets. If you scream, you can keep it at bay and it will probably run away.
8) Always be aware of what is going on behind you. If you notice any strange behavior, don't ignore it. Follow your instincts. It is better to find out that you made a mistake and to be a little paranoid at the moment, but rest assured that it would be much worse if the guy really attacked you.
9) In ANY danger situation, if you have to shout, always shout "Fire! Fire!" and many more people will come to you. When you shout for "Help!" many people do not approach, for fear.
